GRTgaz, a key player in the energy transition of territories, is the European leader in gas transportation.
The mission of GRTgaz in service to its stakeholders is: “Together, making a secure, affordable, and climate-neutral energy future possible.”
GRTgaz performs the following activities in service of its public service missions:
- Transport gas, contribute to the security and performance of the energy system
- Contribute to the ambition of carbon neutrality for GRTgaz and the gas chain by adapting our network and welcoming renewable gases and hydrogen
- Support the development of renewable gas sectors and the decarbonization of our customers and territories
📌 In 2013, GRTgaz expressed the desire to implement a technical repository related to the description of its network (pipelines and network control infrastructures). This repository is based on a Master Data Management solution.
Several hundred thousand records from siloed environments were cleaned, consolidated, and enriched thanks to the implementation of a Master Data Management platform by the GRTgaz & Arhis teams.
The scalable architecture that was implemented enabled large extensions of the data scope.
In 2022, we continue to work in an evolutionary maintenance mode to expand this repository to an increasingly broad scope using pure Agile Scrum methodology. We are sometimes asked if agile methods are relevant for our data management topics… Our client’s response is unequivocal: it’s a resounding yes!
What is Master Data Management?
Master Data Management is a solution that centralizes all customer information, allowing the company to govern its data with a 360° view.
This solution provides many benefits for customer relations: it simplifies data flow and guarantees the uniqueness of customer information, resulting in increased productivity and speed.
